About my friend, i actually know a lot of different ethnic and culture friend. For instance, i have a mexican friend that really help me a lot. I am from Hong kong, when i moved to LA, i know a lot of people came from different part of asia, i.e. japanese, singapore people, taiwanese, they all have different culture and it's really fun to be their friend. About your second point, i say it's some what true, b/c all of my best friends are older than me, and i find it very "hard" to be friend with the people younger than me, except my brother. It 's really hard to understand what they are thinking.
