For real estates, some other places have pretty good locations, too.
One of my ex-colleage just sold his house in San Diego for 20M in June, and my ex-boss had hard time making money out of his real estate investment in Bay area.
I really think it depends on "location".
In general, the housing price is still up from 2003 to 2007.
