印度吠陀占星術是世界流行的頂尖命術在西方研究星象神秘學，尤其是重視占星原來的預測本質，最終都會在印度吠陀占星找答案，由於印度吠陀占星傳承完整，跟歷史悠久，研究印度吠陀占星比較能快速達到愛好命學的目標。研究命理不外乎看妻財子祿，而他能給的答案往往是明確而直接的。舉例在Brihat Parashara Hora Sashtra 印度吠陀占星聖經中論病妻「Sick wife. 印度吠陀占星神授說從印度吠陀占星聖經 Brihat Parashara Hora Sashtra 目錄，可窺知印度占星的觀星論命方式。
第一部份是講印度吠陀占星的神話緣起，在「人類最高知能」中揭示最高的智慧來自於天，最高的的靈感非由左右腦能得，古代的賢能異士都在靜坐中獲得啟發。大家看大六壬、八字、紫微斗數、易經，這些術數很難是憑一人之力在研究室內發明創造出來，因此開宗明義點出印度吠陀占星中，神授的的神秘色彩。單從印度人的名字多是神祉的名字或日月五星的名字來看，不難發現印度人比中國人還重視神秘學。
印度吠陀占星初級看法與西洋占星術比較第三章以後跟一般學占星的部驟一樣，先論行星特性、也就是座標系統、分宮、相位、分盤計算等等。
印度人看天空的方式跟西方人其實是很不一樣的，眾所周知印度人是直接看恆星，十二宮分法不計歲差。
印度吠陀占星的宮制第十一章以後正式進入批論星盤，首先從命宮開始依序十二宮，早期的印度占星是以整宮制來分後天宮，在印度占星先後天宮是一樣的。 現代的印度的分宮制比西方單純，從印度吠陀占星以其豐富的分盤細膩切算來看，其實宮制是很次要的問題。
印度吠陀占星其實自成一格另外值得一提的是印度吠陀占星對於後天宮的意涵跟西洋占星並不太一樣，比如印度吠陀占星看一個人的口才，重視第二宮，跟西洋占星用第三宮、或水星看就完全不同。而在看婚姻感情桃花魚水之歡方面，西洋占星普看第五子女宮，而印度吠陀占星則是看第十二宮。印度人有浪漫的天馬行空也很務實地探討床第閨房之樂。
