Buddha (佛陀) - The term Buddha means "the Awakened one".
何為佛陀? 佛陀的意思是「覺者」之意，即自覺，覺他，覺萬法, 自性的醒悟.

As he fully comprehended the "Four Noble Truths" and as he arose from the slumbers of ignorance he is called a Buddha.
當他能夠完全實現/克服"the Four Noble Truths"且他能夠從無知中覺醒, 我們稱他為佛陀(Buddha).

What are "Four Noble Truths"?
1. The First Noble Truth (萬物受到任何事(失望 悲傷 不舒服 焦慮等)的影響而痛苦/折磨)
All beings, human and otherwise, are afflicted with all sorts of disappointments, sadness, discomfort, anxiety etc. In short they are subject to suffering.
2. The Second Noble Truth (這痛苦來自渴望而產生soul的幻覺)
The cause of this suffering is craving, born of the illusion of a ‘soul’
3. The Third Noble Truth
Suffering has a final end in the experience of Enlightenment (Nirvana), which is the complete destruction of delusion and the consequent ending of craving and ill will.

4. The Fourth Noble Truth
This peaceful and blissful Enlightenment is achieved through a gradual training, a path called the Middle Way, or the Eightfold Path.
透過漸進式訓練, 可以實現平靜啟發/教化. 這方法叫做 "Middle Way" 或 "Eightfold Path".

What are "the Eightfold path"?
The Eightfold path consists of the following eight factors:

Wisdom (智慧)
Right Understanding; Right Thoughts

Morality (良心 道德)
Right Speech; Right Action; Right Livelihood;

Mental Development (精神發展)
Right Effort; Right Mindfulness; Right Concentration;
