Sure, that is what we did as well, put a piece of jade in her cot - and I preferred a natural jade, not those that have been buried (with a dead person) before, if you get what I mean....
Any way, there is no need to be worry as Mr. Ralph has pointed out, it is quite nature for baby to 'see' thing, only when baby cries nights and days without good cause that you need to worry about.
