Subject: [all_ancient] Siblings
Dear All-Ancients
I've got myself into knots over the triplicity rulers for siblings - My
hand written notes say
1st Triplicity ruler = older sibling
2nd Triplicity ruler = peer siblings
3rd Triplicity ruler = younger sister.
Then - I have crossed all those out and put
1st Triplicity ruler = younger sibling
2nd Triplicity ruler = peer siblings
3rd Triplicity ruler = older sister.
The I have highlighted everything in red and written "need to check this
out" -
I have no idea where I got my first-written note - no idea where I got my
second hand-written note - and can figure out for myself why I wrote "need
to check this out"
Can anybody help?
Thanks

In response to Anne's question, the triplicity rulers for siblings is as
follows (Omar of Tiberias -- Three Books on Nativities -- Golden hind Press
page 59-60)
"For the first triplicity lord signifies the elder siblings, the second the
middle siblings, but the third lord the younger siblings,...."
Also confirmed from AstroLogos Medieval Course notes.
Hope this helps!

Dear List:
Now I have got the references for the trip rulers -
How do I use them? To see what kind of a relationship I have with any
particular sibling, do I look at the aspect which the relevant trip ruler
is making to my Sun or to my Ascendant or to something totally different?
I think Claire's point about memory is well taken. I have been called by
my sister's name so many times I am beginning to think I am her!
(Perhaps thats something I should talk about on a psychological list!).

Dear All
I offer my humble experiences as to the use of the sibling trip rulers and I
have taken account of both references. I use the Omar version (1=eldest,
2=middle, 3=youngest).
Simply, I always make note of the sibling trip rulers in a consult and
consider:
1. the condition of the ruler in the chart (dignity, house, aspect)
2. if it is a significant planet in the overall pattern of the chart (e.g.
aspecting angles, part of a stellium or a grand aspect pattern)
3. if it is being highlighted by transit or progression, I will look at
that planet as representing siblings and therefore siblings come into the
predictive scenario.
Re your own chart: look at the trip rulers and find the one whcih relates to
your sister and consider that planet as per the above and see if it
describes the relationship you have with your sister.
Another thing to consider is that sometimes a younger/older sibling may not
fit the younger/older ruler simply because there is no hierarchy in the
relationship you have. In this case, you may choose to use the middle ruler
as it may describe a relationship of "equals" or those of the same age.
Example I have 2 younger brothers: one 2 years younger, another 7 years
younger. The cusp of my 3rd house is Aquarius (diurnal chart) and trip
rulers are Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter.
I consider that the 2 years younger one is better described by the middle
ruler, Mercury (he is also a Gemini!) whereas the third ruler, Jupiter,
accurately describes the 7 years younger one (who is a Leo and Jupiter is
atrip ruler of Leo).
Try it out and see what works for you.
cheers
Mari
