爵士樂跟古典樂，相同之處有從民俗、流行，發展至中產階級、小眾等方向。而在短短不到百年，爵士樂重演了古典音樂四百年間的路，由優美的旋律演進至無調性，但聽者之接受度不高，此亦無可奈何。

我更有興趣的其實是古典音樂作曲家的八字，但由於現有萬年曆跟排盤軟體大多不支援太久以前的排盤，只好放棄，等待有適合軟體再說。爵士樂手大多出生於二十世紀，雖不一定可取得生時，但以年月日，觀察大量樂手，我相信既可由爵士樂手增加我對八字的認識，也可經由八字的分析，幫助我了解爵士樂手與其音樂表現。

我對「全球化」與「文藝復興」這兩個概念一直有很大的興趣。八字與爵士樂，算是我對梅迪奇效應第一個實踐，或是嘲仿（Parody）。而爵士樂本身即為音樂之融合，因此也可說是梅迪奇效應的音樂實踐。

R兄，能否分析Clifford Brown為何那麼早死？是腸癌嗎？還是車禍？
我再怎麼看都不像是會死的樣子...

早年聽說Clifford Brown是位天才型的爵士樂小喇叭手，我聽了他跟Sarah Vaughn合作的抒情演出，未見特殊之處。前一陣子重新開始聽爵士樂，又想嘗試一下，聽了Verve出版，他跟Max Roach合作的專輯，這下子不得了，嘆服的五體投地。

中學時在樂隊待了一段時間，吹的正是小號，不過卻沒特別喜歡小號的音色。聽了Clifford Brown，這才知道，原來有人可以把小號吹的如此快速而又優雅，在長串的連音中，維持著豐富的音樂性而不顯急躁，音色明亮卻又柔和，把所有的不可能融合為一場華麗的搖滾舞會，搖滾樂？沒錯，那些嗑藥的混小子如果改邪歸正，穿上襯衫，打起領帶，一定就是這個樣子。

Clifford Brown是爵士樂壇少見的模範青年，不搞花邊新聞，不嗑藥，不酗酒，可是老天開玩笑，一場車禍奪去了他的生命，年僅27歲。上帝想必在上頭的Pub悶得慌，於是徵召他上天堂表演。

10月30日是癸丑日，正財正官正印，地支合財局又官殺混雜，不管時柱為何，怎麼看都像是規規矩矩的上班族或小生意人，一點都不像是天才爵士樂手。唯一的可能，是在晚上十一點後出生，如此，則變成甲寅日、甲子時，這就很像了。

日坐專祿，日時水木身旺，支合火局，丙火食神透出，身旺食神旺，這才像大音樂家的格局。加上七殺，印證了其曲風有速度、力度，斯文而自然流露，一切又不逾矩，整個演出都在完美的控制之中。

可惜命局藏凶，年上七殺為其一，年時反吟為其二。原局子午沖，流年與日柱寅申沖，流月跟流日又子午沖，橫遭車禍，確有此象。綜合其曲風與車禍意外過世，甲寅日甲子時確實極有可能。
