13 Feb 1755 Mataram empire divided between Surakarta (the titular
status successor) and Yogyakarta.
17 Mar 1757 The dynastic Mangku Negaran microstate is established as
sa overeign enclave in Surakarta.
22 Jun 1812 The dynastic Paku Alaman microstate is established as a
sovereign enclave in Yogyakarta.
1946 Mangku Negaran is declared to be "abolished" (but continues).

此陵共葬24個帝王,自1645至1945.獨立後之蘇丹後裔亦葬此,非常雄偉之大地.如問筆者,他們如何尋到這大地,則我也不知........................

This Cemetery lies on the beautiful hill about 12 kilometers from Yogyakarta. The tomb of Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo, the third king of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom, is on the top of the hill.






All the kings of Mataram Kingdom, beginning from Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX and the family, and the kings of Surakarta Kingdoms and the family were all buried in Imogiri Royal Cemetery.

This cemetery was built in 1645. Visitors have to wear traditional Javanese clothes like in Kota Gede. Everyday many people visit Imogiri and ascend 345 stair to reach the top of the hill where the tomb of the kings lies. The tomb can only be visited on Mondays at 10.00 am - 12.00 am and on Fridays at 01.00 pm. - 04.00 pm.
