I tried this birthdate for a while, but I cannot make conlusive result about the "merger" and "conversion" characters of upper character of birthyear and birthmonth.

Assuming she is born between 11am and 1pm, she would be born in the hour of horse (午時).

The combination of the 5th and 10th heavenly stems (戊 & 癸) to form fire is mentioned in most destiny books. However, to transform to fire, a few criterias must be met:

1. The heavenly stems must be next to each other (in your case this is true). Having one in the year and another one in the day is not considered valid.

2. There must be a catalyst at the roots (化神) for the resultant element. For eg, in your case, since the resultant element is fire, then there must exists an earthly branch which is fire. You do have a fire in the 4 pillars given (in the hourly branch, er.. provided my assumption about the hour of birth is valid).

3. The transformation to the resultant element must be approved by the season of birth (不逆月提主氣). Eg, if the transformation results in fire being produced, then the month of birth should be summer.

If you ask me, the season of birth is winter, under strong water influence. Henceforth, in my opinion, I would deem this combination to be valid but its resorting to become fire to be invalid. Most of the time, we refer this to be 合而不化.

Her parents live together with OK marriage. But her father is a dominant figure, because of his strong mind and little education on her mother's background. So her parents marriage is Ok but with strong in-balance. This strong in-balance definitely has bad effect on her life.

She is a strong figure too and came to USA with assistantship from US graduate school. She has strong inclination for knowledge and study. Namely she enjoys study. This is explained by her abundant "shiSheng" 妘朸 in her birth chart, right?
4.
The abundant "shiSheng" 妘朸 also hurts her other aspects like marriage and family life. In other words, she hurts by her smartness and intelligence. She has above average looking. So if she is less smart, she might have a better marriage/family life.

Weather and location effect.
Her birth chart reflects too much "cold water" (abundant 妘朸, no strong fire and birth month in the winter"), so warm and dry weather is good for her, right?

She has a OK/stable career now, so what is you opinion about her future in her marriage/family and overall picture? Does the most unpleasant life is left behind her for ever? She lives in a much warmer place in USA now? Should she move back to China? She has a nice old sister, but her parents do not help too much. Should she be close to her mother or keep distant from her parents?

question about "merge" and "conversion"( the chinese input is not correct in my desktop).
merge but no conversion for "wu" and "kui", so "wu" is still counted as the "earth" and "kui" as "water" for the weight calculation of 5 five elements, right?

As mentioned, without the approval from the season of birth, the transformation to become fire is not valid. Just like a couple (戊&癸) who wants to marry yet cannot as their union is under strong opposition by the parent (月提主氣 --->亥) :(
