What a romantic video! Among those quotes in this video, I favor this one most, “Love is like a rose. It looks beautiful on the outside, but there is always pain hidden somewhere.”For unknown reasons, this video makes me think of a book that I read long time ago,“ Le Petit Prince ” (The Little Prince / 小王子 ).

The prince falls in love with a rose, a vain but beautiful and naive creature in his planet. The rose returns the prince's love but is unable to express it due to her own pettiness. One day the prince catches the rose in a lie. He begins to doubt the sincerity of the rose's love. The prince becomes unhappy and lonely and decides to leave his planet.

On the day of his departure, the very last time when he is watering his rose, he feels like crying. He says good-bye to her. At first, she refuses to reply. She later apologizes to him and admits that she loves him. She says she will be fine without him to take care of her. Urging the little prince to leave, the rose turns away so he will not see her cry.

When the prince travels to the earth, he is astonished to see a whole row of rosebushes in a rose garden. He is very downcast because he once thought that his rose was so unique as to be the only one of her kind in the whole universe. Now he is surprised and depressed to know that his rose is a common flower. He even questions himself whether he is a great prince after all.

Later on he meets and befriends a fox, who explains to him that the important things in his life are visible only to his heart. His rose is special and unique because she is the one that he loves. The fox says to the prince, “It is the time you have spent with your rose that makes your rose so important.” This is indeed the author’s statement about human love and relationships. The prince’s memory of his rose prompts his desire to return to his planet.

to keep the vows and keep them well.
