最近有部傳記式電影，[波西米亞狂想曲](Bohemian Rhapsody)，就是在講他的故事。

他的生辰有兩種說法，根據網站的資料：

Sy Scholfield speculates a time of 5:50 AM which puts planet Mercury on the ascendant, his rectification based on a joke by a family member (ostensibly made at the expense of a statement from Freddie Mercury): "Freddie's English brother-in-law, Roger,... insists that [Freddie] chose the name because Mercury was his rising planet. 'When he told me, I said, it's a bloody good job it wasn't Uranus. Freddie never forgave me for that.' Kashmira, Freddie's sister, gives Roger a look. He says no more on the subject." (Waldemar Januszczak. "Star of India." Sunday Times Magazine 11/17/1996, p. 61).

大意是說，有一次Freddie說為什麼要取名水星(Mercury)，是因為水星是在他的上升星座上。因此根據這個資訊，得出在早上5點50分出生。

Another book, "Freddie Mercury: The Definitive Biography" by Lesley-Ann Jones (Hachette, 2011), states: "His mother Jer was little more than a child herself when she gave birth to him in Zanzibar's Government Hospital, on Thursday 5 September 1946 – which happened to be the Parsee New Year's Day. That the tiny 18 year-old's first-born was male was a blessing. When the news reached her husband at work, Bomi rejoiced." On 24 November 2016, Lesley-Ann Jones emailed a reply to Scholfield's request for further info on Mercury's time of birth: "I have no idea, I'm afraid! And we can't even ask his mother, she passed last week. Jer did tell me that she gave birth during office hours - and that the news was relayed to Bomi at work. But there is no record of his birth time, sadly. This information is lost to the sands of time."

In April 2017, Joseph Arechiga submitted a rectification giving 10:38 am.
大意是說，在一本有關Freddie的自傳中，有訪問到他母親。他母親記得是在辦公時間生的，而他的父親則在工作中得知生子消息。但是無論如何，都沒有醫院證明文件，可以確認出生時間。

在2017年4月，星象家Joseph Arechiga推算出在10點38分出生。
