Holding Together [Union] 95 象曰:'The good fortune belonging to the most illustrious instance of seeking union and attachment' appears in the correct and central position (of the fifth line, undivided). (The king's) neglecting (the animals) confronting him (and then fleeing), and (only) taking those who present themselves as it were obediently, is seen in his allowing the escape of those in front of him.' 'That the people of his towns do not warn one another (to prevent such escape),' shows how he, in his high eminence, has made them pursue the due course.
彖曰:Holding Together brings good fortune. Inquire of the oracle once again whether you possess sublimity, constancy, and perseverance; Then there is no blame. Those who are uncertain gradually join. Whoever comes too late meets with misfortune.

《高島斷易》0808-比 九五

九五,顯比,王用三驅,失前禽,邑人不誡,吉。

《象傳》曰:顯比之吉,位正中也。舍逆取順,失前禽也。邑人不誡,上使中也。

「顯比」者,明親比和順之道於天下也。

「三驅」者,《禮》所謂「天子不圍」,

天子之畋,合其三面,開其一面,使之可去,不忍盡傷物命,即好生之德也。

「失前禽」者,以禽之前去者,失之不追也,商湯之祝網,即是此義。

「邑人不誡」者,謂王者田獵,與民同樂,不煩告誡,如歸市不止,耕者不變之意,故吉。

諸爻之比,皆以陰比陽,五爻則以陽比陰,以陽故曰「顯」。

且九五陽剛中正,為[比]之主,陽剛則光明而不暗,中正則正直而無私。

此其所以為「顯比」也,[比]之至中而至正者也,

故《象傳》曰「位正中也」,位即九五之位。

順逆以去就言,

前去之禽,任其失之,不復窮追,來者撫之,去者不追,謂之「舍逆取順」也。

「上使中也」者,言上之使下,中平不偏,是下民熙皞之象也。

[比][師]二卦,五爻皆取田之象,

然[師]喻除憂,[比]喻同樂,故《雜卦傳》曰「比樂,師憂」也。

又[師]自二至五,[比]自五至二,[師]曰「三賜」,[比]曰「三驅」。

[師][比]皆禽,

[師]之禽在內害物,為境內之寇,故「執」之,王者之義也。

[比]之禽在外而背已,為化外之民,故「失」之,王者之仁也。

按:六十四卦中,有[坎]者十五:

[屯][蒙][需][訟] [師][比][坎][蹇][解]

[困][井][渙][節][既濟][未濟]是也。

其中雖有輕重大小之別,皆不免艱難勞苦,以[坎]有險難之義,

唯[比]之一卦,獨無艱難勞苦之象,得為最上之吉。

卦全由九五為主,爻具陽剛之盛德,讀者玩索其義,可自得也。

【占問】

問戰征:有降者不殺,奔者不禁之恩威,故曰「王用三驅,失前禽也。」

有耕者不變,歸市不止之德化,故曰:「邑人不誡,吉。」

問營商:玩爻辭,不貪目前小利,不圖意外資財,舍逆取順,雖前有耗,後自得盈餘也。

問疾病:症象已顯,前服驅邪之劑,邪己若失,不必警戒,病自癒也。吉。

問功名:馳驅生事,前功雖失,後效自必顯著。吉。

問六甲:生男。
